St. Elizabeth Women’s Center at St. Elizabeth East welcomes first baby

The St. Elizabeth Women’s Center at St. Elizabeth East welcomed its first baby on Feb. 25, 2010. 

Ella Rett Schneider was born at St. Elizabeth East at 2:57 p.m., making her the first baby born at St. Elizabeth East. The daughter of Jessica and Eric Schneider of Remington, Ella weighed 8 lbs., 1 oz. and measured in at 20 inches long. 

For being the first baby at St. Elizabeth East, the family received a gift basket of baby-related items from the St. Elizabeth Regional Health Auxiliary and St. Elizabeth Regional Health Gift Shops. 

Ella is the first baby born at a St. Elizabeth-named facility in Lafayette since the last babies were delivered at St. Elizabeth Medical Center’s Family Birth Center on April 7, 1999. Babies were delivered exclusively at Home Hospital from that date forward until Feb. 25, 2010 when St. Elizabeth East opened.
