The St. Elizabeth School of Nursing will celebrate its mid-year commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 1916 Meharry St., Lafayette.
The ceremony will include distribution of nursing pins and the conferring of diplomas. December 2009 graduates include Renee Amadi, Jody Beaty (cum laude), Heather Carrell, Sarah Devaney, Bethany Freyler (cum laude), Dana Johnson, Brittney Northcutt, Kathryn Richhart (cum laude).
Sherry Mugg, a pastoral associate at St. Elizabeth Regional Health and a graduate of the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing class of 1964, will be the keynote speaker. Mugg has served as a pastoral associate at St. Elizabeth Regional Health since 1992.
After passing the national licensing examination, St. Elizabeth School of Nursing graduates may practice as registered nurses.
The St. Elizabeth School of Nursing is a three-year diploma school of nursing. It is the only hospital-based school of nursing in Indiana. A bachelor’s degree in nursing option is available in conjunction with Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer.
